Glossary of Ingredients

Acetyl Glutamyl Heptapeptide-1 (aka Octapeptide or SNAP-8):
This powerful peptide can significantly modulate muscle contraction thus preventing the formation of lines and It is especially effective in reducing wrinkle depth.
Freeze XL
Acetyl Hexapeptide (Argireline):
A Hexapeptide (chain of 6 amino acids) that works by inhibiting the release of neurotransmitters. When applied to the skin, Argireline relaxes facial tension leading to the reduction in facial lines and wrinkles with regular use.
Freeze XL
Alpha Lipoic Acid:
A powerful antioxidant - part of your first-line of defense against free radicals. It neutralizes free radicals in both the fatty and watery regions of cells. Alpha-lipoic acid also plays an important role in the synergism of antioxidants; It directly recycles and extends the metabolic life spans of vitamin C, glutathione, and coenzyme Q10, and it indirectly renews vitamin E.
Day Action
Avocado Oil:
Valued for its regenerative and moisturizing properties. It is high in mono-unsaturated fats as well as Vitamin E.

Bergamot Tea:
An aromatic herb native to eastern North America from Maine west to Ohio and south to northern Georgia. Its name is derived from its odor which is considered similar to that of the bergamot orange and is known for it's cleansing properties.
Day Action
Chamomile:
Used as an anti-inflammatory, spasmolytic, vulnerary, antimicrobial, mild sedative, carminative, antiseptic, anticatarrhal and to treat eczema and irritations of the skin and mucosa anywhere in the body.

Co-Enzyme Q10 (Co-Q10):
Present in all human cells and responsible for the production of the body?s own energy. Acts as an antioxidant which means it helps in anti-aging fight. As we get older our ability to produce it naturally decreases, showing signs of aging. In most people over thirty, levels of CoQ10 in the skin are below optimum, resulting in lesser ability to produce collagen, elastin and other important skin molecules. CoQ10 boosts skin repair and regeneration, reduce free radical damage, and is a small molecule that can relatively easily penetrate into skin cells.
Day Action
DMAE (Dimethylaminoethanol):
Naturally occurring substance that facilitates the synthesis of a neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Reduces facial sag and helps to tighten skin.
Day Action
Dimethicone:
The most widely used silicon-based organic polymer, and is particularly known for its unusual rheological (or flow) properties. Dimethicone belongs to a class of synthetic materials known as silicones. It is used widely in Beauty Care Products for its superior spreadability and is an excellent emollient.
Active Block with SPF 29
Glycolic Acid (or Hydroxyacetic Acid):
A colorless, odorless and hydroscopic crystalline solid that is highly soluble in water and related solvents. Glycolic acid is isolated from sugarcane, sugar beets, pineapple, cantaloupe, and unripe grapes. Due to its excellent capability to penetrate skin, glycolic acid is most often used as a chemical peel performed by a dermatologist. It is used to improve the skin's appearance and texture. It may reduce wrinkles, acne scarring, hyper pigmentation and improve many other skin conditions. Once applied, glycolic acid reacts with the upper layer of the epidermis, weakening the binding properties of the lipids that hold the dead skin cells together. This allows the outer skin to "dissolve" revealing the underlying, healthier, smoother, brighter-looking skin.

Grape Seed Oil:
Preferred cosmetic ingredient for damaged and stressed tissues, possessing regenerative and restructuring qualities which allow a better control of skin moisturization.
Day Action
Hyaluronic Acid (aka Hyaluronan or Hyaluronate):
A non-sulfated glycosaminoglycan distributed widely throughout connective, epithelial, and neural tissues. It is one of the chief components of the extra cellular matrix and contributes significantly to cell proliferation and migration. Found naturally in cartilage, used for many different medical applications including treatment of osteoarthritis, eye surgery, is gaining popularity as a biomaterial scaffold in tissue engineering research, is often used as a tumor marker, and it helps to support healthy skin, eyesight and joint function and keeps them feeling youthful well into their later years. Can hold 900 times its own weight in water.

Lactic Acid:
Used to retexturize the skin?s surface and to stimulate cell renewal. Lactic acid helps diminish the cohesion of surface skin cells which results in smoother, more flexible skin.
Active Cleanser
Orange Flower (Neroli):
Plant oil similar in scent to bergamot produced from the blossom of the bitter orange tree. It is used to combat acne, scars, aging and oily skin, and even stretch marks. It is a non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing substance with aromatherapy value.

Palmitoyl Oligopeptide:
The result of an intensive effort to create a substance that would act like retinoic acid without the negative characteristics and irritation. The following statistics were gathered using image analysis of volunteers who used creams containing a 3% concentration of Palmitoyl Oligopeptide for 28 days: Surface roughness Reduced 17%,  Mean depth of wrinkles Reduced 23%, Depth of main wrinkle Reduced 39%, Skin thickness Increased 4%.
Freeze XL
Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3:
Originally used in wound healing, clinical studies have shown a dramatic improvement in skin smoothness and decreased wrinkle depth in test subjects. More importantly, it has been proved to be even more effective than Retinol or Vitamin C in reducing fine lines and wrinkles associated with photo-aged skin.
Freeze XL
Pentapeptide-3 (Matrixyl):
It consists of five amino acids linked together and attached to a fatty acid to enhance oil solubility for the sake of better skin penetration. Researchers found that when added to the culture of fibroblasts (the key skin cells), palmitoyl pentapeptide-3 stimulated the synthesis of the key constituents of the skin matrix: collagen, elastin and glucosamnoglycans.
Freeze XL
Retinol:
A Vitamin A derivative - used as anti-aging chemical - vitamin A is absorbed through the skin and increases the rate of skin turnover, and gives an increase in collagen giving a more youthful appearance.

Sage:
Moisturizes, calms, and soothes.
Day Action
Salicylic Acid:
Also known as 2-hydroxybenzoic acid (one of several beta hydroxy acids (compare to AHA), salicylic acid is the key additive in many skin-care products for the treatment of acne, psoriasis, calluses, corns, keratosis pilaris and warts. It treats acne by causing skin cells to slough off more readily, preventing pores from clogging up.
Active Blemish Control
Seaweed Extract:
Stimulating, revitalizing, and nourishing to the skin due to its iodine and sulfur amino acid content, which also gives it anti-inflammatory and disinfectant abilities.
Active Blemish Control

Soybean Oil:
Contains natural antioxidants which remain in the oil even after extraction and is high in protein.

Squalene:
Beneficial effects on the skin include decrease in dryness and smoothing of wrinkles and scaly skin. Studies have shown that Squalene has a stimulatory effect on the healing process which is thought to be due to its oxidizing effect. It is also synthesized in the human liver, a deficiency of which results in dry skin and premature aging. It has been shown to have beneficial effects in the management of dermatitis and skin cancer. Squalene makes up 12% of sebum, a natural product expressed by human sebaceous glands to moisturize hair follicles. Squalene has a natural affinity to skin, with a natural spreadability and skin absorption. It penetrates the skin quickly, does not leave your skin greasy and blends well with other oils and vitamins.
Night Action
Tripeptide:
A peptide consisting of three amino acids joined by peptide bonds. The most commonly used Tripeptides in anti-aging ingredient is Tripeptide-1 and Tripeptide-3, which as well as contributing to skin condition, specifically target skin cell renewal through the regeneration of collagen.
